The world consists of different stereotypes. Stereotypes help people understand certain things in a more simplified and generic way. Like all swans are white. But they cause frustration and rejection when face a mismatch. Like there is a black swan somewhere. White swan will be still considered normal. And black swan – something different. And probably “mutated”.
Unfortunately the same things happen every day in a real life. Good example is the conception of “having fun”. Think about it. What do you imagine first? Funny people joking around, drinking alcohol and dancing. Somewhere at a local bar or a night club. That sounds a real fun. Are there alternatives? Ok, reading a book. Boring! Playing a video game. Nerdy! Watching a movie alone. Wow man, you must be depressed now!
All of these phrases get on the scene to fight these “anomalies”. But let me tell you something.
I feel bored in a night club. That’s true. I feel bored in a bar. I feel bored to joke around and talk for a long time. I receive no energy for that. I’m loosing energy. That’s why I’m not going to bars. Or prefer just to eat food. That’s right, good food is a real bar entertainment!
Am I abnormal? Or broken? Anything bad with me? But my body temperature is normal. And I feel well. And not depressed. Can it be like that? That’s impossible! You must dance! You must joke around! You must drink alcohol! (continue joyfully, accompany with jumps).
So it’s important to understand that not everything is for everyone. Someone enjoys reading a book, someone enjoys dancing in clubs. This is all perfectly normal. You don’t know what is there in a person’s mind. Why they are behaving this way. Why they do certain things. In fact it’s rarely that the person is ‘hesitating’ or ‘shy’. It’s just their lifestyle. Things they enjoy and (or not) love in life.
