How to Become Perfect

Let’s talk about the desire to be perfect. In fact there is nothing wrong in a desire to be the best. The wrong part is a desire not to “look as a looser”. And there is a difference.

In fact the last one is more directed towards a fear to be wrong and stand against some generic ‘standards’. From one side this feeling can be pretty motivating. It can make a person reach the goals and approach the work and life commitments accurately and thoughtfully, in order to ‘keep up’ and ‘be no worse then others’.

But from another side the feeling can be very destructive and cause much frustration for a person when the goal was not reached or level of expectations was not accomplished.

With this as with everything in life it is important to find a balance. First of all it is important to realize that every person at one particular time is already perfect version of themselves based on their personal experience. They did some things, made mistakes in life, gained knowledge and become what they were at that place and time. Does it mean they can’t be better? Absolutely not!

By mistakes we learn and we also get knowledge from people who do things better then us. This is a normal process and normal way things work. We don’t need to be perfect, we need to respect what we have at the moment and what we can be. And always seek ways to develop.

And one more thing. Being perfect is not the same thing as being the best version of yourself. The reason is the first one is based on somebody’s judgement. People judge on the most part because they want to establish some norms which are applicable to them but not necessarily applicable to everyone. And even after meeting these norms there is no guarantee one will become respectable or happy. In fact it’s easily can happen that “new norms” will appear and that person will not be compliant anyway. That’s why there are no much reasons to chase somebody’s standards. Create your own, respect them and move towards being the best of your dream!
